To find a vehicle air conditioning leak, you must visually inspect all visible components, evacuate the system using the correct machine and vacuum the system, then refill with nitrogen and use a soapy solution to spray suspected leak areas to watch for bubbles, if no visible leak is found we add a dye to the system and use a UV light to identify the leak point.
If no leaks are found the system will be evacuated once more and put under vacuum for approximately 30 minutes and held under vacuum for a further 15 minutes, once this procedure has passed it is safe to fill the system with oil, refrigerant and test.
